How about a trip to Yemen
A Brief Summary
To the outside world this is a wartorn, fractured country, that very few have ever even contemplated visiting, let alone actually done so. But, it is an historically rich region, culturally diverse from the rest of the Arabian peninsula, with rugged scenery and a very different way of life for the locals. So, as a place to “experience” and for somewhere very different, with a great climate, there is a slim chance that the Yemen will be a new holiday location we could add to our list of unusual places to visit in the years to come.

About the Weather
As a country, the Yemen is very dry, very hot and very sunny, but it’s capital, Sana’a is a little different. One of the most elevated capitals on earth, its climate is hugely tempered by its elevation of 2,300m. The weather is warm year-round by day and cool, sometimes cold, at night, cold enough for ocassional snows. Highs seldom breach 35°c and humidity is low most of the year, but heavy rains can fall in mid-summer, although only on a handful of days a month. Sunshine is similar in most months, with around 8 hours a day, equivalent to the UK in the height of summer.
