How about a trip to Western Ecuador and Colombia
A Brief Summary
There aren’t many people that enjoy “hot and cloudy” weather, but if you’re one of these people (apparently they exist), then perhaps you’d like to spend the month of June in far western Ecuador or its neighbour, Colombia. Temperatures of 30°c will require t-shirts, but if getting a tan is what you’d like from your holidays, perhaps this isn’t the place for you… Foggy mornings and predominantly cloudy days are the norm here and overcast gloom means more than 2 hours of sunshine a day is rare… bizarre considering the temperatures and location on the equator!

About the Weather
Jan to Apr here sees very heavy rain, with torrential downpours common and in El Nino years, flooding across this Western region of the country is significant problem causing travel chaos. May, Jun and Dec are less wet but still see some rain, while Jun to Nov is very dry, often rainless for weeks at a time. Despite the marked difference in rainfall throughout the year, temperatures remain constant at 29-32°c by day and well above 20°c by night. Sunshine levels are also low, or very low throughout the year with only Apr averaging more than 4 hours a days sunshine on average.
