How about a trip to Corsica

Corsica

SummaryA Brief Summary

The name “Corsica” conjures up images of glamour, beauty and tranquility and that is, in part, exactly what you’ll find here. A territory of nearby France, Corsica is somewhat autonomous in its Governance, and really only feels like the far southern coast of mainland France and very little like the rest of Europe’s largest country. It has a long, fairly turbulent history, much of which can be dated back hundreds, if not thousands of years, has a rugged geography akin to many Meditteranean islands and isn’t what you’d call “cheap”. While other times of year are also a good time to visit, there is something about Corsica in the hustle and bustle of a hot, sunny, summers day that really is hard to beat.

WeatherAbout the Weather

Nice’s weather, located in the more northerly reaches of the Mediterranean, is bright or sunny for most of the year, especially so from late May to early September, when skies are clear and rain is unusual and is indicative of the weather across the southeast of the country and the island of Corsica. Winter weather interchages days of clear, mild sunshine and colder, rainy weather, often accompanied by winds and choppy seas. Spring and Autumn are mild to warm and relatively sunny with occasional heavy showers. Temperatures range from 13°c in December to February, to 28°c in August. Extremes of cold or heat are uncommon and while the region can experience heatwaves in summer or snowy weather in winter, neither are particularly severe, nor last for more than a couple of days at a time. The months of October and November are by far the wettest, with July and August the driest.
