About the Weather
Cape Town, in the southwest of South Africa, has a warm and very sunny Mediterranean climate, inverted due to its southern hemisphere location. Summers here, from November to March, are warm and extremely sunny, with only a few days rain. Very hot days are rare due to the persistent breezes from the southern ocean, but there are occasionally temperatures of 40°c during this time. Spring and autumn (reversed from the northern hemisphere) are mild and bright with slightly increased rain. Winters, from June to August, is when Cape Town sees most of its rain and its temperatures are equivalent to Isreal, or North Africa during the northern hemisphere winter.
