How about a trip to United States Mid East
A Brief Summary
This region of the US encapsulates an area of the country defined by its produce, including the States of Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. A small area, but a strategically and historically vital one. Tennessee is music country, Country Music predominantly and home or birthplace to the likes of Elvis, Dolly Parton, Tina Turner and many more music icons! Cities like Memphis and Nashville conjure up images of intimate live performances in bars serving locally produced whiskey in the foothills of the Blue Smokey Mountains!
Kentucky is home to 3 things above all else. Horse racing with one of the biggest events in the global calendar: The Kentucky Derby. Whiskey, deep, Smokey Bourbon. And, grass. Well, Kentucky Bluegrass is technically not from Kentucky, but it’s name has long since been owned by the State, so… we’ll just leave it at that. Horse racing is huge business here and the equestrian centres here rival many-a-mansion in other parts of the country and the world and their facilities are incredible. The largest and only major city in the State is Louisville, again, a city built off the back of trade on the Ohio river, trade including those of people as part of the Slave Trade. It is also a state of copious cave systems, the Appalachian Mountains, Fort Knox and a number of large forested lakes, ideal for exploration and camping excursions.
Virginia is a small and minimally populated state, owing to its largely hilly and mountainous geography. Making for superb hiking trails and wilderness expeditions, it won’t take you long to escape any sense of creature comforts here and get out into the big, wide world with nothing but a compass, a tent and your wits to keep you alert and alive!

Kentucky’s climate, one that embodies this region of the US, comprises hot and sunny summers, and cool, or cold winters, with Spring and Autumn being mild or warm and bright. There is no truly dry month here, with all months having considerable rainfall, often in the form of heavy showers, rather than elongated periods of rain. Winters are cool at 8°c and see some snowfall as well as rain, although this is rarely especially heavy except in the higher hills. Temperatures can drop well below 0°c during cold periods.
