How about a trip to Turkey South Coast
A Brief Summary
Much like Turkey’s Aegean coastal region, it’s true Mediterranean coastline, nestled just north of Cyprus, plays host to a number of large towns already hugely popular with tourists, but also a number of places far, far less frequently visited. From Fethiye in the West, past Antalya, Side and Alanya, you have covered the uber-popular resort towns, littered with beaches, bars, restaurants, waterfront promenades and beautiful marinas and harbours, for which this region is rightly famous. Carry on further east however and you get to Mersin, Adana and Iskenderun, towns which on paper share similar attractions to the previous ones, but with one notable exception: beaches. If beaches are your thing, these are towns you’ll probably do well to avoid, but if you’re after culturally relevant places, with notable histories, extensive local fare to dine on and places that are beginning to feel very Middle Eastern, then this is the region for you. Tourism is nowhere near as prevalent here, so you’ll get a truer sense of “Turkey”, but with the equally beguiling hills, mountains, valleys and walking and cycling options still as accessible as across the Aegean. One other element slowly booming across this part of the world is golf. The warm and sunny climate is now playing host to some top quality courses and this region will so no doubt rival the costas of Spain and the Algarve region of Portugal

About the Weather
Turkey’s southern coast is renowned for it’s summer sunshine, which averages more than 10 hours a day from late May through to early Sep, and still sees more than 6 hours a day during Mar, Apr, Oct and most of Nov. Summers are also dry and hot, with 33°c the average high, but 40°c degrees often recorded from late May to early Sep. Winters are mild but wet, often very wet, with frequent passages of heavy showers, often accompanied by strong, squally winds, which give considerable rainfall totals, particularly from late Nov to early Feb. Spring and summer are bright or sunny and warm with showers.
