How about a trip to Thailand Central
A Brief Summary
Bangkok is breath taking as a city… and not just because of the heat and humidity sapping your energy, it is about as chaotic and yet organised as a city can get! Arriving here you’ll join 10’s of thousands who land at Suvarnabhumi (Soo wah nah poom) Airport every day as one of the busiest airports in the world and central to the economy of South East Asia as a starting point for many an adventure. Whether you’re a gap-year student who wants to tread the tried and tested Bangkok starting off point on your tours, a middle-aged parent(s) with small family, or an older lady or gent who’ve yet to experience this city, you won’t be disappointed.
If you want the finest dining and elevated views of the city at night, there are a number of world-class restaurants catering to your need, if you’d prefer street vendors selling delicious fare for less than a newspaper back home, you can have that too… and of course, everything in between. As with most large SE Asian cities, the trade has built up over decades courtesy of the huge river (Chao Phraya in this case) coursing through, and this is still a vastly popular mode of transport for every Bangkok local, so you really do need to spend a little time at the river-side markets, or ferry terminals if you want a more authentic taste of Bangkok. If you’re a culture-vulture and prefer palaces to pedicures or temples over topless women, this city has you very, very well catered for too. As you can imagine, nightlife here is not for those who want to get to bed by 9pm… in fact, if you want to fully experience this part of Thailand, and you should, have a nap mid-afternoon and wake up at 9pm to begin the sensory assault!
