How about a trip to Tanzania North and West
A Brief Summary
THIS is the Tanzania 90% of visitors to the country come to see! In particular, 3 world-renowned national parks: Serengeti National Park; Ngorongoro Conservation Area and; Mount Kilimanjaro National Park. This is part of the world where you can truly let your inner David Attenborough loose, standing atop the vast and mindboggling Ngorongoro Crater, or riding in an open top 4×4 and seeing the vastness of the Serengeti open up before you and the plethora of large animals, from giraffe to buffalo and zebra to wildebeest, all just going about their business. The choice of accommodation here is staggering too, from the cheap and budget-friendly tents, to the opulent and exceptionally well catered-for lodges with pools, airconditioned rooms and large 4-poster beds!
If animals aren’t your thing and you prefer spending 10-days or so gradually ascending the slopes of the highest mountain on a continent, well guess what, you can do that here too! Mount Kilimanjaro is nearly 20,000ft high and while not technically challenging, is physically very demanding. A good level of fitness will be required to reach the summit of this immense stratovolcano and hopefully an ability to slowly acclimatise to the altitude without adverse physiological reactions. But… get to the top and on a crystal clear day the view will be like literally nowhere else on earth and the sense of achievement quite overwhelming.
So, whether it’s wildlife or wilderness, this corner of Tanzania probably delivers more bang for your buck than just about any corner of the planet!
