How about a trip to Tanzania East Coast
A Brief Summary
If you’re familiar with Tanzania, geographically, there are probably 2 things you think of: Incredible wildlife; or stunning beaches. For eastern Tanzania, it’s the latter you’ll be looking forward to. From the furthest southern coastal stretches on the border with Mozambique around the town of Mtwara, all the way north to the Kenyan border, the beaches here are some of the best in the Indian Ocean.. and that’s saying something given the calibre of beaches to be found across the Indian Ocean. However, among all these, one area stands out: Zanzibar!
A little archipelago just south of the Kenyan border has incredible ice-white sands as soft as talcum powder and perpetual sea breezes, all backed by lofty palms with magnificent hotels dotted throughout the eastern flanks of the main island.
Naturally, fish is the mainstay of the diet here and it is prepared in some utterly delicious ways, whether served at 5-star hotels, or caught and bbq’d on the beach. Fish markets litter this region so you’re spoiled for choice if catering for yourself, as well as being an assault on the senses in every conceivable way.
Most people when coming on holiday to regions like this can’t wait to get out of the arrival city and onwards to their beachfront abode, but if you have the time, try spending a day or two in Dar es Salaam. It’s typically African being busy and bustling and slightly chaotic, but the eclectic mix of cultures here, as well as history and geographical charm, makes for an unusually enjoyable short city break before reclining on your sun lounger.

About the Weather
The eastern coast of Tanzania has a hot, humid, and sunny climate, with the dry season running from Jun to Sep and the rainy season covering the remainder of the year, peaking in Apr. This is also the only month of the year that averages less than 7 hours sunshine a day, which increases to 9 hours a day from Aug to early Nov. Rain does occur in the dry season, but only a few times a month, seldom lasting long. Temperatures above 33°c by day and below 17°c at night are very unusual. Winds here are also frequently quite strong, moderating the heat and humidity nicely
