How about a trip to Spain Canaries
A Brief Summary
The Canary Islands are largely comprised of 4 main islands; (Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Tenerife), but with some smaller additions such as El Hierro and La Gomera. Each island is quite different in its appearance and geographical make-up, but all provide several consistent themes. Firstly, they have arguably some of the best weather on the planet, with excess heat or cold virtually unknown, rainfall quite unusual and plenty of sunshine year-round. Secondly, all of the main islands have a huge number of fabulous beaches, be they the ice-white sands of Corralejo on Fuerteventura, or the black sands of Los Cristianos on Tenerife. Thirdly, they all cater to every conceivable tourist-type, from hikers on Mount Teide, to sunworshippers of Maspalomas, party goers of all ages in Santa Cruz, to cyclists pedalling their way round Fuerteventura’s smooth asphalt. Finally, they’re within 4 hours of the UK, making them an accessible and truly year-round destination.
If you do want something a little quieter though and you’re more keen on being a jogger than necking a jaeger, or prefer National Parks to water parks, then you’ll definitely want to look at El Hierro, La Gomera or La Palma, which are much, much quieter than the 4 larger islands.
But, whatever you want, the Spanish Canaries will provide everything you could probably ever need for a week… or two!

About the Weather
Very little rain falls in the Canary Islands, with perhaps the highest elevations of the westernmost isles being the exceptions. For the most part the islands are warm and sunny year-round, with very high temperatures rare and very low temperatures unknown. Skies are mostly sunny, averaging 7 hours a day in winter (Nov to Mar) and 8-11 hours a day the rest of the year. Highs range from 20°c in Jan to 27°c in Jul, but can occasionally go above 35°c during hot, dusty weather blown in from the Sahara. Heavy rain here is unusual, but can occur a couple of times a year in winter, but rarely lasts more than a day or 2. The islands are often windy, particularly the eastern coastal regions, with Fuerteventura especially windy.
