Southern Senegal has a distinct and contrasting 2 season climate. Jun to Oct sees hot, but very wet and very humid weather, with frequent torrential rains and very high humidity. Temperatures remain above 30°c all year, but seldom much higher in the rainy season, with nights averaging 23°c in the rains to 19°c in the dry season. The dry months are almost totally dry and extend from Dec to May, when temperatures can approach 40°c under clear blue skies and low humidity.
