A Brief Summary
A vast region of exceptionally dense rainforest, huge rivers and… well not a great deal more to be honest. However, if you fancy exploring the mighty Amazon tributaries by boat and want to see the earth as it most likely was thousands of years ago, this is where to do it. Wildlife here is king, queen and everything else, the flora and fauna dominate all and only the very adventurous head out this far into the wilderness, but boy do they get some reward for doing so!

About the Weather
This far-western region of the Amazon basin has a truly equatorial climate. With the exception of the period Jun to Sep, the remainder of the year sees frequent, torrential showers, very high humidity and hot weather without any prolonged periods of extensive sunshine. The Jun to Sep period sees less rain (although still considerable amounts), sunnier weather and slightly reduced humidity levels. Temperatures don’t change throughout the year with average highs of 32°c and lows of 22°c. Temperatures can exceed 40°c on rare occasions at which time it feels exceptionally muggy.
