How about a trip to Norway West Coast

Norway West Coast Dec

SummaryA Brief Summary

The west coast of Norway may be a wet, cloudy and gloomy place from a meteorological perspective, but geographically, there are few places on earth that can hold a candle to this place. Bergen (which we’ll come to in a moment), is the main entry point to this astonishing part of Norway, but shares this with the port of Trondheim further north. Between the 2 cities you’ll find nature. Extraordinary nature. Fjords, mountains, rivers and valleys utterly dominate the landscape and are, whatever the weather, utterly astonishing to behold.
Bergen is a relaxed place, of colour and music, with a readily accessible town centre and a genuinely pleasant culture and feel to the city. Colourful houses, narrow streets, friendly locals and quirky little markets.
Trondheim is smaller and quieter, but equally lovely. It has a long and rich history and is a cracking little stop off for a day or two, before or after you’ve exhausted your batteries and energy exploring the outstanding scenery all around you

WeatherAbout the Weather

A climate dominated by the influence of the north Atlantic, bringing heavy, persistent rain for much of the year, especially from Sep to Feb, when storms, with severe gales, very heavy rain or snow are common. Sunshine during this time is very limited, and seldom more than 1-hour a day. Temperatures rarely get above 10°c from Nov to Feb, but are also seldom very cold, unlike elsewhere in Scandinavia. Spring, from late Mar to May is cool and wet, but increasingly sunny, although rarely reliably sunny for long periods. Jun to Aug is warm and bright, but sees heavy showers or rain. Hot weather here is unusual, but temperatures can exceed 30°c from May to Aug on rare occasions
