How about a trip to Lesotho

There aren’t many countries in the world like Lesotho. Not only is the country entirely surrounded by another, South Africa, it is, by it’s lowest point, the highest altitude country in the world, with no part of the country lower than 1,400m. For reference, this is almost exactly the same height as the highest point in the UK, Ben Nevis. I digress.
What it lacks in size, being almost identical to Belgium, it makes up for in variety of terrain, and photographic and exploration opportunities with canyons, waterfalls and valleys here that would outshine most in Europe. From a “doing” perspective, the choice is a little limited, ranging from trekking to riding (either bikes or ponies) and the only significant city of note is the capital, Maseru. This is not a city packed with sights to delight the average tourist, but for those venturing further afield, an absolute must to stock up!
