How about a trip to Japan South Honshu

The southwest of Japan, southern Honshu, is one of the most historically significant places on earth, and sadly, not for a good reason. Here lies, among the mountains and rivers, forests and beaches, Hiroshima. The first city that was utterly annihilated by the US during the second world war and remains to this day one of the most harrowing acts of man in history. To see this city today you wouldn’t have a clue of the horrors of the 1940’s, for it is a bustling, busy, pretty city with a cracking nightlife, great culture, and plenty of green and open spaces. Wherever you go though, you’re always, rightly, reminded of the events that took place that fateful day.
Away from the city of Hiroshima, this corner of Japan, like the vast majority of the country, is highly forested and rugged but nonetheless crammed full of charming towns and villages, as well castles, several large Shinto shrines, and even Japan’s only sand dunes!
