How about a trip to Japan Kyushu
A Brief Summary
Kyushu is not somewhere most people could readily point out on a map of Japan, but that’s not to say they wouldn’t have heard of several places or sights within this large island to the south of Japan. First and foremost is the city of Nagasaki, obviously long-since rebuilt since the catastrophic effects of the US bombing during WW2 and now a thriving port city with a host of museums commemorating the sombre events that day. Just outside the city you will also find Gunkanjima, or, to Bond fans, the inspiration for Raoul Silva’s lair in Skyfall, played by the wonderful Javier Bardem.
Elsewhere on Kyushu, the town of Beppu has more hot springs and onsen than any other town in Japan, Fukuoka is home to one of the worlds largest Sumo tournaments as well as plenty of shopping and restaurants, while Miyazaki in the far south is the islands beach resort, with golf, surfing and wonderfully warm waters in the summer and autumn!

About the Weather
Japan’s southernmost large island has a subtropical and humid climate that sees the driest weather from Oct to Feb, with highs during this period of between 10 and 16°c and cool nights. Skies are bright however and with light winds it can feel warm. Mar to May is warm or very warm and increasingly wet, but also increasingly sunny with heavy showers common. Jun and Jul are much cloudier, slightly hotter (averaging 28°c) and much, much wetter with daily, torrential, thundery downpours. Aug is the sunniest month of the year, although still with considerable rain, which lasts into Sep as temperatures remain above 30°c. Typhoons frequently come close to this region, although don’t often strike land, but bring torrential rains and damaging winds when they do
