How about a trip to Jamaica
A Brief Summary
Only a little larger than Cyprus, Jamaica is a Caribbean island just south of Cuba and west of Haiti. Famed in recent years for it’s sprinters, chief among which being Usain Bolt, Jamaica, obviously, has far more going for it than just very fast residents!
A mountainous island, particularly to the east, just north of Kingston, it’s capital, the island has some wonderfully varied scenery and landscapes. Here you’ll find waterfalls, brilliant hiking trails, jungle and coffee. Very, very good coffee in fact in the form of Blue Mountain Coffee. The north of the island sees the majority of the best beaches and iconic tourist spots such as Ocho Rios falls, Runaway Bay and Montego Bay, both Bays having long sweeping sand beaches and an abundance of hotels, many of them high-end and catering to adult-only clientele.
Negril on the far west is secluded and has some of the very best beaches and accommodation in the Caribbean, not just Jamaica, and as a result is an unsurprisingly pricey stretch of coastline, so very few cheapo holidays here! Think free-flowing champagne and plush slippers rather than Prosecco and itchy dressing gowns!
Kingston, the former home of legendary musician Bob Marley, and home to over a million people is by far Jamaica’s largest town. With a long history dating back to the early days of the Caribbean discovery, through to the present day and the very individual and unique Jamaican food, Kingston is a great excursion for a day or 2 away from your sunbed.. if you can possibly bear it!

About the Weather
Hot and humid year-round with little variation in temperature throughout the year. The sunniest and driest weather is seen from Dec – Apr, but sunshine levels remain high throughout the year, averaging 8 hours per day. While Jun – Oct is peak hurricane season, and Jamaica is centrally located in the Caribbean Sea, it is seldom directly struck by hurricanes, instead passing nearby causing days of rain, stronger winds and rougher seas. It is also one of the sunniest Caribbean islands with regular strong winds from the southeast cooling the heat and humidity
