A Brief Summary
For a large island, Sardinia is visited far less frequently than say Majorca, or Cyprus and yet offers just as much as either of those, if not more. If you’re looking for Caribbean-esque beaches with beautiful turquoise waters set amid glorious little bays or coves, with pretty towns as a backdrop and small yachts and boats bobbing in the harbour, Sardinia is awash with such scenes! If you’re looking for a splash of luxury, then the northeast of island provides all the above, with an extra “£0” on the price tag of most things. Inland the island is rugged, hilly and littered with ancient sites and ruins of varying sizes and interest and the inland areas are sparsely populated so you’ll have the place almost to yourself!
So next time you’re wanting a Mediterranean island break, but you’ve done many of the others, Sardinia really is worth thinking about.. and then trying!

About the Weather
This region of Italy has temperatures a few degrees warmer than most other regions of the country, due to the warming influences of the Mediterranean Sea and it’s proximity to northern Africa, from which the highest summer temperatures emanate from Jun to Sep. Summers here are very sunny, with very little rain from late May to early Sep. The rest of Autumn sees much less rainfall that elsewhere in Italy, as do the winter months, with severe storms often only skirting the region, or passing over quickly. Winters are mild and fairly bright, although nights can be cool with high humidity. Spring is sunny and warm. Temperatures average over 30°c from late Jun to Aug and cool through a 25°c Autumn, to highs of 16°c in winter and 20°c in Spring
