How about a trip to Italy Northwest

Central northern Italy has a climate more akin to central Europe than the rest of Italy, with cold, sometimes snowy winters and hot, sunny, but stormy summers. Protected from the worst of the winter storms by the Alps, this region only sees occasional snows, but winter temperatures are often quite close to 0°c and days of fog and low cloud occur quite regularly here from Nov to Feb. Spring is bright and mild to begin with (14°c by day), but increases to 22°c in May, but with heavy, often thundery showers. Summers are sunny, but still see heavy rains and occasional thunderstorms and extremes of temperature in summer here are unusual, with highs above 34°c uncommon. Autumn sees wet and windy weather after Sep and a significant drop in sunshine and temperature in Oct too.
