How about a trip to Indonesia Java
A Brief Summary
If you’re looking for a quiet, off-the-beaten-track holiday with just yourself and mother nature for company, maybe best to avoid the western region of Java. This is one of the most densely populated areas on earth! What it lacks in solitude however it more than makes up for in options, culture, atmosphere and vibe.
There truly is too much to list here as to the things you can do and the places you can go, but safe to say everything from tranquil beaches to volcano exploration and city-centre bustle in chaotic but thriving Jakarta, to temples and sprawling rice fields, are found here and much, much more! It even benefits from having a large international airport at Jakarta with frequent flights from a large number of major cities in Europe and Asia.
This region is bizarrely off the tourist maps for many westerners venturing to Indonesia, but it really is hard to see why you wouldn’t comfortably spend a fortnight here exploring this magical and dynamic place
The eastern half of the worlds most populous island has, like the western half, a rather unfair advantage on most other islands in the world. If you’re looking for a holiday to somewhere with wonderful food, friendly locals, stunning scenery, bustling cities, amazing flora and fauna, active volcanos, wonderful beaches, and a whole range of temples, coffee plantations and many, many more sights, sounds and smells, then this incredible island won’t disappoint.
Despite its huge population, much of eastern Java is densely forested, with mountains, volcanos and waterfalls stemming from, and leading to, a huge number of rivers. The northern areas are flatter and fertile farmland in the forest cuttings. Large cities such as Surabaya, Semarang and Yogyakarta will cater to all your retail, food and city-based needs, while elsewhere will cater to pretty much every natural desire you may have (even ice and snow at the very summit of the highest peaks from time to time). So seriously, what are you waiting for…
