How about a trip to India Central plains
A Brief Summary
A rarity among Indian states, with neither coastline nor international border, Madhya Pradesh occupies the heart of India and is just south of the capital Delhi. Not usually on the travel radar, MP is a state that would appeal to those seeking to find a more cultural India, or perhaps spiritual one, with dozens of ornate temples, historic forts, or large national parks supporting some of the densest collection of tigers in the world, elephants, monkeys and many more animals.
If you’re looking for a range of hotel options, with great transport links, this isn’t the India for you, but if you’re happy to explore and discover some less-trodden treats, then MP is a great starting place!
Chhattisgarh (pronounced Chat-uz-gar), is a landlocked state in the east of central India and one of the most forested of all regions within the country. Famed for its forests, waterfalls, rivers and temples, this is not a state to visit if your idea of bliss is to lounge on a beach for 2 weeks, but should be very high on your list if you want to marvel at tigers, water buffalo and deer in their natural habitat, visit a range of diverse and ornate temples and see some spectacular waterfalls, rivalling many more famous ones for the size and awe.
Given the nature of this state, travelling around isn’t as straight forward as elsewhere, but the rewards are well worth it.
The final State making up India’s landlocked central States, is that of Telangana. It is not one of the true tourist hot spots of India, but that being said, it does house India’s largest tiger reserve, some wonderful temples and Hyderabad is a bustling city with plenty to offer the traveller. It is probably a state more suited to stopping off in on your way to Maharashtra for example, than opting to make a holiday of solely on its own

About the Weather
Located in the very heart of India, very warm or hot weather is found year-round here, with Mar to Jun being particularly hot as temperatures climb well above 40°c before the onset of the relatively short monsoon period. This period spans from Jun to Sep and sees considerable rain, especially in Jul and Aug, with little relief from the heat as daily highs reach 35°c, but with considerably less sunshine. Oct to May is almost entirely dry and sunny, with Mar and Apr being the sunniest months. While days are hot, nights can be markedly chilly given the moderate elevation and cool weather is not uncommon from Oct to Feb.
