How about a trip to India Central North
A Brief Summary
Haryana is to Delhi what the the Home Counties are to London, a commuting haven! There are a great number of Delhi workers living in this state, meaning that transport into India’s capital is exceptionally easy and frequent… but unless you’ve always longed to know what a sardine feels like, perhaps avoid rush hour!
The State itself is unremarkable in so much as it isn’t widely regarded as a tourist hub in its own right, but will allow for easy transport to and from the capital and other states to the west, such as Punjab or Rajasthan.
Officially called Punjab, but frequently cited as The Punjab, referring to the larger region in which this state is located. While technically bordering Pakistan, the exact delineation of that boundary is often brought into question, sometimes creating conflict.. a conflict which has ebbed and flowed for many, many years. But, unless you happen to be very unlucky and be right in the border region, as a tourist or visitor you are likely to be none-the-wiser during your time here.
Uttar Pradesh (UP) is a relatively large state in northern India, just to the east of the capital, Delhi. It is in no uncertain terms a very, very busy place, being the most populated state or subdivision of any country on earth, containing in it as many people as the UK, France and Germany combined and were it to be a country, it would be the 5th most populous on earth in its own right!
So, with all these people, there’s something to do here right? Well, yes! There are 3 key cities here tourists flock to in their droves. Firstly is Agra, home of the Taj Mahal, one of the true architectural wonders of the world and a site to behold in the flesh. Second and third are the cities of Allahabad and Varanasi, both of which are hugely historic and some of the holiest places in India. Both of which are situated on the holy river of the Ganges and, at times, the river front can be besieged with thousands, or tens of thousands of people, making for a spectacular if not surreal and rather daunting sight.
Away from the mighty Ganges there are numerous palaces well worth visiting and a plethora of large and bustling cities, each with their own unique twist and flavour. And of course, there is Delhi, India’s capital and home to over 20 million people and offering a range of accommodation, food, shopping and sightseeing to challenge most cities in Asia! After all, 200 million+ people can’t be wrong in their choice of home in UP

About the Weather
India’s capital and surrounding region has a hot and relatively dry climate, with only Jun to Sep seeing reliable and significant rainfall. Temperatures during this time average 35°c by day, but often exceed 40°c, nights are particularly hot. While the wettest time of year, sunshine levels aren’t too low and humidity not overly high. Oct sees a dramatic change to dry and much sunnier weather again, with this theme in place all the way through to May. Winters are cooler, but still average 22°c. Fog and Smog can be a real issue in Delhi in winters with air pollution levels exceptionally high, only really banished by the fierce heat in Apr and May which precedes the short monsoon rains.
