How about a trip to Gibraltar
A Brief Summary
Gibraltar is a British overseas Territory located at the very southern tip of mainland Spain, with, from the top of the famous “Rock”, breath taking views over the straits of Gibraltar, all the way, on a clear day, to Morocco in north Africa. Gibraltar’s history could fill a substantial book, or blog, but in summary, it has been contested over by most of the larger nations of Europe for many hundreds of years due to its critically important trading location, with the British ultimately becoming victorious.
Nowadays Gibraltar is a tax haven for cruise ship passengers and other travellers using the promontory as a stop off on their journey. Staying in Gibraltar for more than a few days is unusual, and being smaller than Richmond Park in London, you could comfortably see the vast majority of the territory in a weekend, and that’s exactly what you should do. A couple of days here will give you a chance to swat up on your history, partake in some retail therapy, enjoy the staggering views and even spend a morning on a beach before rounding off your visit with some fine dining on the western side of the town.

About the Weather
Gibraltar has a typical Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry, sunny summers and mild, wet winters. Winter rains are often heavy and frequently accompanied by strong winds, resulting from the transition of Atlantic storms being squeezed through the small passage between Spain and north Africa. The heaviest of the rains occurs from late Oct to Mar. Sunshine levels during this time are around 4 hours a day. This increases considerably during Spring when skies clear for 7-9 hours a day and temperatures rise from their winter averages of 17°c, to 21°c, although higher temperatures well above 25°c are common at this time. Summers are almost totally dry, hot (around 28°c) and sunny, with 10 or more hours of sun from Jun to Aug. Autumn is warm and bright, but sees increasing showers by early Oct
