How about a trip to Gabon
A Brief Summary
Gabon, a smallish nation in West Africa, has had a troubled past, compared to a large number of African countries, it has remained largely trouble-free for many years now, with a relatively stable economy and democratic political system. While the size of New Zealand, its population of just over 2 million is one of the smallest in Africa, resulting in a very sparsely populated country.
Geographically the vast majority of this equatorial country is thick jungle and rainforest, much of which is protected national parkland, sheltering and harbouring a variety of wildlife such as gorillas and hippos, with whales frequenting the Atlantic coastlines off the mangrove forests.
Getting around Gabon is difficult and challenging at the best of times, but it’s a country that presents a very different side to west Africa than many others, so if you’re feeling adventurous and want a passport stamp nobody else will have.. give Gabon a go!
