How about a trip to France West Coast
A Brief Summary
A region synonymous with vineyards, and rightly so as it encapsulates a significant part of the western Loire Valley. It is also home to the world famous race track, Le Mans, home of the 24-hour race and many, many previous F1 races. Angers is a town with an old medieval centre and a rich cultural life and museums, with the huge Chateau of the Plantagenets home to the worlds largest medieval tapestry. Nantes is the region’s biggest city with an industrial past, but one that is fast building a green future, with a fast-improving air quality programme and a large expansion of green or parkland areas and increased biodiversity. Like most large French towns, it still possesses a significant diversity of buildings and architecture resulting from its long and tumultuous past. Geographically hilly but not extremely so, this region in western France is ideal for those seeking a little exploration, with fine food and wine without having to go particularly far to get it

About the Weather
This western coastal region’s weather is dominated by the north Atlantic influences and very similar to, although a little warmer than, southwest Britain. Winters are relatively mild and rarely very cold, but often wet and windy. Winds here can be stormy throughout the winter and some of the stormiest weather in Europe occurs here when deep low pressures move in from the Atlantic, with winds in excess of 100mph not unheard of, causing extensive damage. Spring is often calmer and brighter but showery, with warmer weather only reliably arriving in late Apr and May, however occasional hot weather can bring temperatures above 25°c in these months. Summers are warm but not especially sunny, again with clouds commonly rolling in from the Atlantic. Very hot weather (temperatures above 35°c) occurs here sporadically in mid-summer and very cold weather in winter is rare. Autumns are mild and bright to begin with but often overcast and stormy by late Oct and Nov.
