How about a trip to France Far North
A Brief Summary
Containing what is undoubtedly one of the worlds great cities, Paris, Ile-de-France is in the northern central region of France, just a short trip from the UK and exceptionally well connected to the rest of France by high speed rail lines, and to the world by air. With the scenic Seine snaking its way through the picturesque city and its countless sites of interest, from the Louvre, to the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame and the underground catacombs, Paris is also a city filled to the brim with incredible restaurants, cafes and bars, with a bustling nightlife and anything you could ever want to see or do. Only London and New York can compete with Paris’s sheer wealth of attractions, but neither of those do it with quite the same “finesse”.
Outside Paris you have Versailles, one of the most beautiful buildings (and gardens) in all of France, as well as a number of national parks and forests for those wanting a little break from city life.
If you’ve never been to Paris, you must go. If you’ve been before, you must surely want to go back? Away from the French capital, the northern coastal region of France is littered with coastal towns very well known to British travellers arriving by boat, such as Le Harve, Cherbourg and St Malo. This is also a region rich in history, although sadly much of it relating to the catastrophes of the world wars, but nonetheless, well worth a visit

About the Weather
It’s rare for a place to associated with a season or time of year, but that is exactly the case for Paris and “The springtime”. Spring in Paris is however a changeable feast, while it can be beautifully warm and sunny, it can also be cold, wet and even snowy. Temperatures during spring average 15°c, but climb to well above 20°c by late May, sunshine levels in March are low, but by May reach more than 6 hours a day. Summers are warm to hot, relatively sunny, but also see infrequent spells of wetter and windier weather. Heatwaves are becoming increasingly common in a number of large cities across Europe and temperatures of 40°c only years ago were very rare, are now being seen once or twice a year and with Paris’s large urban heat island affect, heatwaves can feel uncomfortably hot and humid, often ending with torrential thunderstorms and localised flooding. Autumn is mostly mild but with reduced sunshine and an increase in wetter conditions. This leads into cool, sometimes cold and often cloudy winters. Snow falls most years in Paris, but rarely heavily and seldom lasts more than a few days, except during periods of cold easterly winds when temperatures fall well below 0°c.
