How about a trip to France Alps
A Brief Summary
Alpine France is synonymous with skiing and winter in general, and rightly so. This is one of, if not the, busiest network of winter resorts in the world, with some global powerhouses such as Meribel, Tignes, Chamonix, Val D’Isere, Alpe D’Huez… the list is nearly endless.
However this region is just more than exceptional skiing and snowboarding. Come in the summer and you’ll be blessed with wonderous views of lush green meadows, verdant hills, wood cabins and pretty little towns serving wonderful pastries and coffees, all while you meander your way, on foot or bike, throughout this scenic locale. Think Sound of Music vistas and you wouldn’t be far wrong!

About the Weather
Cold, damp, overcast and sometimes snowy winters typify the weather you’re likely to see in lowland Alpine France from Nov to early Mar. Apr and May warm up considerably, but aren’t a great deal sunnier than early Spring until the end of May when temperatures average 19°c compared with 2-8°c by day in winter. Summer is warm and infrequently hot and quite sunny, but with frequent, heavy showers which are often thundery. Temperatures average 24°c from Jun to Aug with 7-8 hours sunshine a day. Sep is warm and bright, but showery, however Oct is markedly colder and more overcast while Nov sees the first snows of the winter.
