How about a trip to Ethiopia West
A Brief Summary
Western Ethiopia couldn’t be much more different to its desolate, arid eastern counterpart. Here the land is green. Very green, with forests and towns in the foothills of rolling hills in every direction. The majority of towns are small and have minimal facilities for those passing through, but the larger cities of Jimma or Nekemte will cater to all but the most luxuriant of needs. A 5* luxury break here really isn’t the reason you should visit this part of the world, instead, get the walking boots / mountain bike ready and be prepared for a hard slog and some calorie burning.. and to feast your senses on “proper” Ethiopia as lived by locals for many, many years!

About the Weather
Western Ethiopia has one of the more pronounced wet seasons in the country. Mar to Oct is the wet season here with reliable rains, although these peak from Jun to Aug when they become torrential and thundery on a daily basis. As a result these months are much more overcast and humid than the rest of the year, with only 4 hours sunshine a day and 80% humidity. The sunniest months, from Nov to Mar see 8 hours a day of bright sunshine. Temperatures range from 28°c in the dry season, down to 24°c by day in the wet season with only Feb to Apr seeing figures above 35°c
