This Baltic state has a cool continental climate, with marked extremes of temperature and sunshine year-round. Winters, from late Nov to early Mar are cold, very cloudy and damp, with frequent light snow. Warm weather here during these months is unknown and while very cold weather isn’t common, temperatures do drop well below -25°c a number of times throughout the season. Spring is cool or mild until mid-May when temperatures begin to climb quickly, resultant of the marked increase in sunshine levels. Mar sees 4 hours a day of sunshine while by May this has increased to nearly 10. The May to Aug period is warm and sunny, but with regular showers. Heatwaves aren’t extreme but temperatures above 30°c do occur here several times a year. Autumn starts warm and bright but very quickly cools with cloud cover increasing rapidly.
