How about a trip to Eritrea All
A Brief Summary
Formerly a part of Ethiopia, but gaining independence in 1993, Eritrea is in the northeast of Africa, bordering both Ethiopia and Sudan, and with a very short border with Djibouti. It is a country steeped in about as much human history as it is possible to get, going back almost a million years! While it is possible to come here and experience the Italian and Egyptian inspired architecture of its major cities of Asmara and Massawa, don’t expect a country that allows you, or its citizens the freedom of speech and democracy as media and communications here are heavily controlled and sites like Instagram and Facebook simply don’t work here.
