How about a trip to China Far Northeast

China Far Northeast Dec

SummaryA Brief Summary

This seemingly remote region of China is not as sparsely populated as one might expect, with more than 31 million people calling this place home. By far its biggest city is that of Harbin, the home of the winter ice festival, a huge winter sculpture spectacular with unbelievable creations made from ice and snow in the frigid winters here. Much of this province is flat and open with a short summer season meaning farming is densely concentrated into a short few months of the year. The far north in particular is heavily forested and much of the province can feel particularly Russian in its culture, architecture and way of life, not really a huge surprise given the long border with its neighbour to the north and east

WeatherAbout the Weather

China’s most northern region, unsurprisingly, sees very cold winter months lasting from Nov to Mar. Temperatures above freezing during this time are unusual and nights often drop below -15°c. Winter are however dry and sunny with only very light and occasional snow. Spring is cool and short, but sunny and fairly dry with temperatures averaging 15°c in Apr. Summers are very warm and humid with heavy showers and bright weather between the rain. Sep sees temperatures drop from 26° early in the month to 14°c by the end before the approaching winter.
