How about a trip to Canada Arctic North
A Brief Summary
This is a land of unimaginable size, adorned with huge lakes, many, many rivers, dense boreal forest in the far south and some surprisingly high mountain peaks. The terrain here is a true challenge and not for the faint of heart, even on a pleasant summers day, let alone a bitter winter one. This area however is an absolute goldmine.. literally, producing huge quantities of the stuff, along with oil and diamonds, making the challenges of exploring and even living in this remote region financially rewarding to say the least. As a holiday destination… less so, unless you’re a wannabe prospector, or you truly want to get away from anything remotely approaching civilisation, in which case, pack your thermals!

About the Weather
Far away from the influence of any oceanic moderation, this region of Canada sees long and bitterly cold winters with reliable snowfalls and little sunshine. Spring and Autumn months are cool and often snowy, but with spring in particular seeing considerable levels of sunshine. Summers (Jun to Aug) are short, sunny, warm and humid and can see heatwaves bringing temperatures above 30°c. Rainfall in summer is light and patchy. Not much rain falls here annually, with almost all precipitation falling as snow.
