How about a trip to Burkina Faso North

Burkina Faso North Dec

SummaryA Brief Summary

Burkina Faso is a surprisingly large country (10% larger than the UK) in west Africa, and one that has a distinct segregation of land type and use from northeast to southwest. The north is virtually desert with the only water to be found in lake beds after the monsoon rains, although these quickly dry in the searing Saharan heat. People live in a huge number of small villages, separated by stereotypical dusty tracks and roads. Electricity is by no means a guarantee here and travel in this region should be planned well in advance

WeatherAbout the Weather

A climate dominated by hot weather throughout the year, but with Mar to Jun particularly so. Temperatures can reach 40°c in any month of the year (one of only a few places on earth to achieve this), but during the late spring and early summer with the strong Saharan sun, these approach 50°c quite regularly. Sandstorms are common, often bringing strong winds and very poor visibility for days at a time. Rainfall is non-existent from Nov to Mar, but a short wet season from late Jun to Sep can see considerable rains, often causing difficulty moving around due to the very poor infrastructure. Humidity levels during the rainy season are also very high, but drop dramatically during the dry season
