Cold, fairly cloudy and quite snowy winters give way to bright and mild springs. Rainfall levels aren’t particularly high, but snow can fall as late as Apr, but rarely heavily by then. Summers peak at 28°c on average, but with high 30’s°c not uncommon in humid heatwaves, some of which can last for a number of days or weeks. Thunderstorms are common and often come about after intense heatwaves in late summer and early autumn, but can also occur in late spring and early summer. Summers are mostly very sunny though, particularly Jul and Aug. Temperatures in Autumn start in Sep at 23°c during the day but by Nov have dropped to 10°c or lower, with night time frosts common.
