How about a trip to Brazil Central Plains

Brazil Central Plains Jan

SummaryA Brief Summary

The central swathes of Brazil is a region of stark contrasts in terms of population densities, but one of surprising similarities geographically. The majority of the people living here are found in large cities and towns which are growing rapidly in size, however given the vastness of the area, the majority of the land here is sparsely populated. Geographically it is an area of relatively flat land at moderate altitude, criss-crossed by wetlands, savannah, scrublands and a host of large river systems, home to a huge diversity and range of wildlife and birds. Where the area does deviate in topography, large cave systems, waterfalls and grottoes can be found. The world famous wetland area, the Pantanal, home to thousands of animal species and countless aquatic birds, are to be found in the west of the region, close to the neighbouring southern border with Bolivia. The nation’s capital, Brasilia, home to the political heart of Brazil since 1960 and is a city comprising the highest GDP of any city in South America, despite some substantial poverty in its suburbs
