How about a trip to Belgium
A Brief Summary
Belgium is a small and densely populated and heavily urbanised country in western Europe. It’s eastern regions are rugged, hilly and heavily forested in places, and typified by the terrain around the race track, Spa. The west of the country is much flatter and much more heavily agricultural with farms covering large areas. Historically Belgium has a strong medieval presence with renaissance and art-nouveau buildings, whilst also being the home of the European Union and NATO. 2 main cities tend to attract visitors to Belgium: Brussels and Bruge. The former of these offers little to tourists who aren’t genuinely fascinated with the workings of the European Union and there are far better cities in northern and western Europe to spend your time and money. Bruges on the other hand is a beautiful, if small city which is well worth a weekend. If you fancied a glimpse, the film In Bruges is a good watch to get an idea of what to expect… and a highly watchable 2 hours at that too!

About the Weather
Typical north western European climate, with cool, cloudy, often wet and sometimes very windy winters from Dec – Feb. Snow isn’t common, but is seen almost every year for a week or so during this time. Springs warm up slowly but are the driest time of year usually. Summers are warm and quite sunny, and can be hot and humid, but rarely exceptionally so and autumns tend to be mild, but with infrequent spells of wet and windy weather.
