How about a trip to Argentina Far South
A Brief Summary
An area the size of Iberia, but with a population of Belfast, this is a very sparsely populated region of Argentina, home to large glaciers, crystal clear glacial lakes, high Andean peaks in the west and a vast array of marine wildlife on its cold, but dry eastern south-Atlantic coast. In between these 2 contrasting regions, lies a desolate and almost uninhabited rolling plain-type landscape, reminiscent of the American wild-west in the 1800’s. Llamas and Alpaca’s do live here, but given the vastness of the region, unless you know where to look, you’ll be unlikely to see them, however, for sheer remoteness and natural wonder, the western region of southern Argentina in particular is spectacular!

About the Weather
Mild, dry cloudy and windy summers here are the norm, with only occasional hot weather punctuating the usual conditions. Winters (Jun – Aug) are cool, if not cold by day and very cold at night with often additional windchill, making temperatures frequently feel below -20°c. Sunshine levels are never particularly high, peaking in October. Despite the cool, snow is rare and rain falls mainly in light showers or drizzle.
