How about a trip to Botswana
A Brief Summary
Botswana is not quite what you’d expect from an African nation in many regards. Firstly, it is one of the most sparsely populated countries in the world, bigger than every European nation except the Ukraine and yet with a population smaller than south London. Secondly, it has a rapidly growing economy and is now widely considered to be one of the more developed nations on the continent, and a true middle-income nation. It consists largely of the Kalahari desert and only the northern parts of the country are green and fertile… but this is the Botswana you need to visit! It is a genuine animal lovers paradise.
The worlds largest inland river delta, the Okavango, is found here and the physical make up of this vavst open, shallow area of fresh water is a magnet for incredible numbers and diversity of wildlife. From the small birds and insects, to natures very greatest animals, including hippo, elephant, rhino, zebra, giraffe and antelope. Safaris here aren’t cheap, but there’s good reason for this: They are often considered some of the best in the world! Not only due to the density and diversity of animals found here, but the quality of accommodation on offer. Other than safaris there isn’t a great deal for tourists in this large, open, often dry country, so if you’re not that fussed about seeing the aforementioned creatures in their natural habitat, intertwined with incredible hospitality and fine dining, then by all means look elsewhere. But if this floats your boat, you really, really need to make the journey!
