A Brief Summary
A collection of mostly small and rocky islands in the mid Atlantic may not seem like an obvious beach holiday destination, but with a significant number of hotels emerging in recent years and a number of excellent, large, clean, white-sand beaches and warm waters, there aren’t many places better in January to get a winter tan and laze away the days with a good book, than the Cape Verde Islands

About the Weather
Very dry, very sunny and hot weather is seen in each month in Cape Verde. A near-desert climate sees the only appreciable rain coming in Sep, during the formation of low pressure systems off the coast of Africa that go on to form hurricanes across the Caribbean a few days later. Sunshine levels are high throughout the year, peaking in Apr – Jun, but never dropping much below 8hrs a day. Temperatures are never very hot given the islands oceanic location and average 30°c throughout the year, with nights just above 21°c.
