How about a trip to Central / Southern Argentina
A Brief Summary
If you’ve ever fancied visiting Patagonia and it’s spectacular lakes, glaciers and mountains, coupled with mindblowingly great steaks washed down with superb wine or beer, January is probably the month to do all of that. Clear blue skies are the norm, with temperatures in the mid to high 20°C’s. The Argentine side, centred around San Carlos de Bariloche,is one of the sunniest places in the world in January and just right for getting out and about amongst the epic scenery. Just make sure your camera batteries are fully charged!

About the Weather
Central southern Chile’s climate is dominated by Pacific influences and its location between the cold ocean and high Andes mountains. Summer (Dec – Feb) temperatures are supressed and seldom exceed 25°c with bright but not overly sunny weather and infrequent rain and high humidity. Winter months (May – Aug) see considerable rain, very high humidity levels and limited sunshine, akin to western Europe in Nov or Feb. No large, flat landmass for hundreds of miles means heat rarely builds here, but also means severe cold is also unusual.
