How about a trip to Monaco

Monaco Jul

SummaryA Brief Summary

The word opulence is often used to describe objects, or people, or behaviours… but never countries. Unless that country is Monaco. Then it fits like a Saville Row suit. The other word that is often used to describe Monaco is “playground”, but not the type with rusty old swings and metal slides that burn in summer and freeze in winter, more a “playground” for those with bank accounts seldom below £100m! The modes of transport here vary from small superyacht and upwards on the water, to Ferraris and Lamborghinis and up on the road. Owners here don’t so much as look at mpg figures here as have custom designed watches created to match their latest 4-wheeled toy!
Wealth aside, Monaco is….. well, actually you simply cannot put wealth aside, this place offers almost nothing to those on a budget and makes them feel mightily inferior or insignificant when they peruse the extortionate retail outlets (from outside the glistening windows), or stroll past the world-famous casino, or walk along the streets which host the annual Formula One race here. Even a cup of coffee will require a second mortgage in some places, however, if you hunt around, a few slightly more wallet-friendly options are available.
Head to the hills for a staggering view of the harbour and the grandeur that is arguably the wealthiest place on earth. Enjoy your short time here, not because you’ll have no money left (although that is highly likely), but realistically because other than the main sights, there isn’t an enormous amount to do here other than use this hyperglam location as a start / end point for exploring the wider southeast corner of France, or northeastern Italy.  Or both.
