How about a trip to Georgia

Georgia Jul

SummaryA Brief Summary

The eastern regions of Georgia are landlocked, rugged, mountainous and strewn with rivers and valleys. It’s capital Tbilisi is in the mid-east region of the country and is visually highly reflective of its long and varied history, with medieval, neoclassical, Stalinist and modern buildings all juxtaposed alongside one another.
Being a former USSR region there are still strong ties with Russia, although these ties have caused notable friction in previous years, although at present things appear to be settled. History aside, this is a fantastic region of the world to explore, the terrain is not for the lazy or fainthearted, but will provide you will some wonderful vistas and some friendly hospitality, so whether on foot, or wheels, this is an adventure you will likely be pleasantly surprised by.
Western Georgia is geographically more diverse than its eastern counterpart. While still very rugged on the whole, it has additional extremes of terrain, from the highest peaks of the Caucasus Mountains in the north, rivalling anything the Alps has for height and awe, and the shores of the black sea, with a number of beach resorts along the coast, chief of which is Batumi. A slightly strange place you might think for a resort which has thrived in recent years on gambling and casinos, one which is also a busy port city as well as a beach holiday destination for many people in the Black Sea region… but it all seems to come together really rather nicely here. And if the Las Vegas of the Black Sea isn’t your thing, then the many small towns and villages that dot the huge number of valleys around here will offer you a warm welcome as you explore what is slowly becoming a true European nation

WeatherAbout the Weather

Georgia has a climate with marked contrast from winter to summer. Winters are cool, occasionally very cold, with only a few light rain or snow showers and fairly overcast skies. Temperatures average 7°c by day from Dec to Feb although they are a little warmer on the Black Sea coast. Mar is barely warmer or sunnier than Feb, but by late Apr and May temperatures have increased to above 20°c with skies much bluer. However, the increased warmth and sunshine trigger increasingly frequent and heavy showers which peak in May and Jun. Sunshine during the summer averages 8-9 hours a day and rains decrease from Jun through to Aug and Sep, while temperatures rise until Jul and Aug, averaging 31°c by day. Humidity is never especially high or low regardless of rainfall or sunshine levels. Autumn starts very warm and sunny, but cools considerably by early Nov with much greater cloud coverage by then too
