How about a trip to Belize

Belize Jul

SummaryA Brief Summary

Belize’s situation, on the eastern flanks of the Caribbean Sea, surrounded to its west by Guatemala and north by Mexico, sees it have a mix of geographical terrains and landscapes. Inland it is often dense jungle or rainforest, with sporadic Mayan ruins emerging from the trees every now and again. There are some higher elevation regions with views of the jungles that can stretch for many miles, but most of the interior is hilly and sparsely populated. The coastline is dominated by long sandy beaches, the worlds second largest barrier reef and many small islands, islets and cays. Scuba diving here is a huge industry and has some of the best diving in the western hemisphere.  Tourism per se is still relatively juvenile with a limited number of well-catered-for resorts and hotels, but these are set to increase rapidly as the world realises what a fantastic little country this is, and one that is trying to do things in a truly sustainable way and protect its own, and other, fragile ecosystems in the process!

WeatherAbout the Weather

Sharing a similar climate to south-eastern Mexico and Guatemala, Belize has hot humid weather throughout the year, with a short dry season from Feb to Apr and wet, but quite sunny weather the rest of the year. Humidity peaks in early autumn (Sep) when rainfall is at its highest and sunshine is at least. Apr and May see the sunniest weather before the start of hurricane season. Belize isn’t often directly impacted by hurricanes, mainly because of its small size, but is frequently indirectly impacted, with torrential rains and strong winds for several days when hurricanes are in the region. The peak time for this is Sep and Oct.
