How about a trip to St. Lucia

St. Lucia Jun

SummaryA Brief Summary

St Lucia is one of the biggest islands in the Caribbean… not by size, but by reputation. It is renowned for it’s luxury resorts, soft-sloping sands that disappear into the warm waters of the Caribbean, twin peaks (pitons) which tower over the island, its dense internal forests and fabulous food. The inland areas of the island are rugged and densely forested with very few people and even less transport, so while hiking through this terrain is possible, you’ll need some planning or your own vehicle, which you may want for the tour of the drive-in volcano! The coast is where it’s at here, and the minute you find yourself on a beach on the west coast watching the velvet-warmth of the sun setting over the still, warm waters, you’ll see why. You can do St Lucia on a budget, but if you can spend a little more, you’ll get so much more in terms of accommodation, service, quality and location.
The northwest corner of the island is the hub of activity, the best beaches, the liveliest places and the widest variety of restaurants and bars. The towns themselves are worth a visit for a day if you’re tired of the beach and the lavish hotels… but if that’s the case on a week’s holiday, then maybe the fabulous Caribbean isn’t where you should be headed in the first place?!
