How about a trip to Spain East Coast
A Brief Summary
The eastern coastal region of Spain is dominated by 2 geographical features. The Iberian Mountain ranges and the Mediterranean Sea. The former meanders its way 50km or so inland from the coast throughout most of the region while the latter and it’s gleaming white, pristinely clean beaches, is the main draw for the droves of tourists flocking to this region annually.
Aside from the hubs of Benidorm, Alicante and other lengthy stretches of the Costa Blanca, you’ll find some lovely, but much quieter beaches throughout the region, some just a short drive from the heaving sands of the above. Benidorm and Alicante are, as you’d expect, thriving towns, focused entirely around their beaches, with great nightlife and a vibrant, often youthful scene, but one which is also hugely popular with families and the older generation through the winter months.
Culturally, this is one of Spain’s less attractive regions, except perhaps the region’s largest city Valencia, which has not only the vibrancy you’d expect of a million-inhabitant city, but is coupled with great architecture in a range of locations, from churches and museums, to old gothic buildings and ultra-modern structures beautifully juxtaposed alongside. The other reason to come here is the food, especially the paella, the world-famous regional dish found all over this part of Spain and is utterly sumptuous with a glass (or jug) of delightful Sangria.

About the Weather
On the far eastern coastal region of Spain, summers are hot, dry and sunny and extend from late May to mid Sep, with temperatures ranging from 24°c to 31°c on average, but highs in excess of 35°c not uncommon. Skies are mostly clear, with Jul being particularly sunny, although every month from May to Sep sees more than 8 hours a day of sunshine. Oct sees cloudier and cooler weather with heavier rain, although remaining warm at 24°c. Nov to Mar is mild or warm by day, but cool at night and sees irregular showers, some of which can be heavy. Rare, but very heavy, intense downpours can occur here in winter months, bringing flash flooding every few years. Winters are generally bright or sunny with 6 hours sunshine a day on average
