How about a trip to Qatar
A Brief Summary
Doha, the capital of Qatar, is a real marmite city… you’ll either love it or you’ll loathe it depending on what you’re looking for. On the definite plus side; it is ultra modern, exceptionally clean, generally very safe, it barely ever rains, dining outdoors is almost a given, the waterfront area is beautiful and it has some terrific beaches. On the less favourable side, men and women are absolutely unequal, they are unable to dine / socialise together in many circumstances, alcohol is nigh-on impossible to get and even if you can, consuming it is severely punishable, and those LGBTQ members of society should tread very carefully with how they “behave”, as any physical contact between non-married, non-heterosexual couples is frowned up. A lot!
Away from Doha, Qatar is essentially a desert and if you’ve got the money, anything is possible here, from dune bashing in 4x4s, to golf, sandboarding, sailing, or overnight desert stays in seriously luxurious Bedouin-style tents.
