How about a trip to Palau

Palau Jun

SummaryA Brief Summary

If you don’t know where Palau is… don’t worry, you’re not alone. Just head to southern tip of the Philippines and then east, into the mid-Pacific and you’ll come across a smattering of tiny islands surrounding 2 or 3 larger islands.  This is Palau.  If you don’t like diving, or yachting, or sailing or kayaking, or water in general, Palau is not for you!  Everything here is geared to travellers wanting exactly these things.  The country is big on all things environmental (unsurprisingly), so much so that suncreams which contain products that damage the coral reefs, on which the country’s economy is hugely dependent, are banned.

While you can come here and sit on a beach for a week or two, in all honesty, you’re missing the point and might as well save the effort of traipsing half way round the world and go somewhere nearer to home.  If you’re a diver, or just want to get out on the water and explore the hundreds of tiny islands here, above and below the surface, then the exertions of getting here are fully justified!

WeatherAbout the Weather

Very humid, hot and wet weather predominates throughout most of the year in Palau, with only Feb – Apr having fewer heavy downpours and sunnier weather, with a maximum of just under 8 hours per day during this time. Jul to Nov is particularly prone to passing, or impacting, typhoons. These can be severe, which given the Islands’ limited infrastructure have the potential to cause catastrophic damage.
