The west of Mozambique sees its hottest and driest weather, far from the influence of the Indian Ocean or Mozambique Channel. Days average between 29 and 36°c during the year (Jun and Nov respectively) but can exceed or approach 40°c during any month, most often from Sep to Apr. Rains are confined to the late Nov to Mar period, with Apr to Oct seeing virtually no rain. Skies are similarly clear all year, with between 7 and 9 hours sunshine a day, peaking in Aug and Sep. Nights are generally warm between 16 and 23°c
