How about a trip to Bermuda
A Brief Summary
Technically a British Overseas Territory, but one that feels much more akin to the Caribbean or even east coast US, Bermuda is a small archipelago of around 180 islands, many of which are simply too small for habitation. The island has no natural fresh water storage such as lakes, so relies on the regular rainfall to replenish its sources. It is located more than 1,000km from the nearest landmass, North Carolina in the US and while its remoteness means it relies heavily on the import of food and drink, it is a wealthy island and a renowned tax and banking haven. It has very little in the way of open or unused green space and is densely urbanised, with sailing, yachting and fishing a way of life here. So, does all this mean you shouldn’t visit… on the contrary! Given the high standards of living, the beautiful beaches, the mesmerically blue waters, the feeling of safety combined with tranquility and the bountiful number of places to eat and drink, very well we might add, dotted throughout the island, mean it is the perfect location for a getaway with a difference!

About the Weather
Bermuda’s climate is somewhat different to the rest of the east coast of the US. It’s winters are milder under the oceanic influence and summers less oppressively hot and humid. Temperatures range from 20°c by day in Jan and Feb, to 30°c from Jul to Sep. Rainfall occurs in all seasons and there is no particular month where it is heaviest, although there are more wet days from Aug to Mar with Apr to Jul slightly drier. This is also the sunniest time of year, exceeding 9hrs a day in Jul, up from the low of 4.5hrs a day in Dec and Jan. Bermuda lies in the path of multiple hurricane tracks each year, but they rarely strike the islands directly, instead passing close by with strong wind and heavy rain. The peak season for this is from Jul to Oct but can fall in any month from May to Dec
