How about a trip to Tanzania Central Highlands
A Brief Summary
Most country’s capital cities are places where tourists tend to flock to, even if just for a short visit before moving on elsewhere. Dodoma, Tanzania’s capital, is one of the exceptions! For tourists, this place offers next to nothing and is merely an arrival and departure point for seeing the delights of the rest of this wonderful country. Tanzania is a country blessed with epic wildlife and the reason most visitors arrive in their thousands.. and rightly so, with the very best wildlife offerings towards the north of the region.
Compared to most countries, the central region’s National Parks are truly impressive, and the scenery fantastic, with rolling grasslands and scrublands as far as the eye can see. The 2 best Parks here are Ruaha and Selous, the latter being the largest in Africa. Being off the beaten track of the main tourist hotspots does mean a little less in the way of infrastructure and fewer palatial pads from which to experience all this region has to offer, but, and it is a big but, it does also mean far, far fewer people. So when you do see a giraffe nibbling on the tops of a remote tree, or a vulture enjoying the carcass of an unfortunate prey, there won’t be chorus of chatter from excitable tourists, or a litter of 4x4s in the background of your prized picture!
